India Independence Day
On Monday 15 August we marked India Independence Day with a flag raising ceremony and National Anthem followed by tea and sweets and a chance to chat and catch up with friends, family and colleagues. In his welcome NZIBT CEO John Snook noted that New Zealand would be the first country to celebrate India’s National Day in 2016. Students and staff were joined by Lincoln University campus community as well as friends and family for this celebration and everyone had a very enjoyable morning. We look forward to 15 August 2017.

New Zealand Cricket High Performance Centre
On Wednesday students were invited to tour the NZ Cricket High Performance Centre which is based at Lincoln University. Abhishek Parikh and Bhupinder Gaba met with Carl Frauenstein, Cricket Operations Coordinator and spent some time in the Marquee where Corey Anderson and Jimmy Neesham, were in a coaching session. Both are NZ Black Caps team members and IPL players. It was a huge thrill to meet these players in person and they encouraged the students to play at club level while in NZ and to return to the centre when there was more coaching or games during the upcoming season.
